The discs are made of Plexiglas, which was at the hardware store already cut to size. The window guides made of plastic I-beams, which were to improve the optical front trimmed with aluminum profiles. The anti-scatter is 10cm high and with U profiles besfestigt that were bonded with AQ silicone. He can also be removed for cleaning (just pulled up).
for the deep litter area of the shelf was not cut completely, but cut a wide hole, front and rear, a narrow strip was allowed to stand. This back wall and scattered with protection and guide rails. The back wall of 16mm particle board, to improve the static interior fitted between the shelves. The plexiglass fronts for the Buddelbereiche are also fastened with glued aluminum U-profiles.
The enclosure of Teddy Hamster Dame Yoyo
Yoyo is a very bright woman hamster. It needs plenty of room to dart, but puts little value on hiding (which they never used because it is not at all shy).
has therefore a home-made Gallery (racetrack) of wood dowels and coated particle board on which they often entlangflitzt. The sand bath is lined with very natural stones, the stones are associated with modeling clay. A willow bridge and a piece of cork to serve as the rising level. Something green (in the case germinating are hamster food in sand) and a few ears it as an experience food. In the background is the 27cm Wodent Wheel (available from Rodipet ).
At one end of the enclosure, the track widened to a level with corn cob granules.
In the plane on the rear wall is still buried in a tube. As she flits through super happy. A small haystack of course both in the hamster cage.
The house is buried in two enclosures in Buddelbereich and is supported by U-profiles as described herein . The inputs are very low and below by two hamsters with devotion every morning closed. The roof is a stone slab (for cooling) on the roof there is water from wells and food scattered, as Farmys (Knabberstangen of JR Farm ) or other treats.
The cottages are (as everything else) built themselves. There are houses with multi-chamber-based sub-digging to Ecktois. The Great (Yoyo) uses the well-behaved. Sony Dsungarin they abused in such weather as a bed (which is probably nice and cool inside. Otherwise, she sleeps beneath the ground) The houses are made of laminated wood, so that urine and animals can not move into the wood.
The enclosure of Dsungarendame Sony

Sony also has corn and hay, nor a stone and corn cob granules in a candy jar Ikea. The ladder was unsuitable for hamsters with a Hemp mat "related" so that Sony is not covered by the struts. It is now the stairway to the sandy beach level.
The sand bath is again a place to hide. In the background is the 28cm wheel of Trixie .
dig Both hamster transitions and sleep underground. Yoyo had before (despite relatively low litter) are not digging. Since she has the deep litter area on the other hand it is really active in the dig. Unfortunately for them the division one box Buddelbereich has made it possible. Interestingly, in both hamsters start the course at the Corner Toilet in the cottages. Here we see an "end of the aisle" on the disc, and it was very dug branched path networks, which can unfortunately not photographed.
English Summary
User Yoyo from the German her hamster Forum repurposed this IKEA 5x5 Expedit shelf for cages for two hamsters "Yoyo" and "Sony". Yoyo Syrian girl lives in the top cage with a floor size of 1'3 "x 5'9" (38cm x 175cm) and russian winter white dwarf girl Sony has the lower cage with 1'3 " x 4'7" (38cm x 140cm) floor size. Both hamsters have a digging area with about 1'4" (40cm) of bedding depth . The shelf was bought used; the baskets and boxes contain hamster accessories and food. The cage is for sure something to look at. The couch right next to the shelf invites to relax and watch the hamsters.
The sliding doors are plexi glass. The tracks are plastic E-beams from the hardware store. The bedding protector is held in place by aluminum U-beams which were glued on with aquarium silicone. It can be taken out (slid up in the U-beams) for easy cleaning of the cage. The front of the digging areas is also plexi glass held by U-beams. To help with the statics of the shelf the 0.06in (16mm) back plates are fit into the compartments.
Hamster Yoyo is very active and needs a lot of space to run. She is not at all shy so she does not have that many hideouts in the cage to leave more space for running. Her cage contains a self built level ("race track") made from wooden dowels and veneered particle board where she can run the length of the cage without obstacles. The sand bath is enclosed by stones which are held together with child-safe modeling clay. A willow bridge and a piece of cork are used as ladders to the race track. The end of the race track widens into a bigger platform with maize granules. There is also a bit of sprouted hamster feed and some ears of "fun food". She has a 10" Transoniq Wodent Wheel . Below the level there is a tunnel and some hay.
The homemade houses in both cages are "subterranian" and carried by U-beams as described here . The roof is made from stone for cooling in the summer. On the roof food is served. Each house contains a ceramic toilet (secured against being dug under). Both hamsters block the entrances to their houses.

Hamster Sony is a bit shy so her cage contains more hideouts - willow bridges, cork and wooden tunnels, etc. Her cage also contains hay, a stone to wear down the claws and an IKEA Förvar candy jar with maize granules. The ladder leading up to the sand level was modified with a bit of hemp mat Sun Sony will not fall through the insurance. On the sand level there is another hideout. Sony has to 11 "(28cm) wheel by Trixie .
Both hamsters dig burrows and sleep " underground ". The picture shows the end of a much larger (but unfortunately Unphotographable) burrow. Interestingly both hamsters started their burrows under the toilets in their houses.
