English Summary
This two-level DIY cage was made by user Yoshi from the German Forum and hamster hamster Board for her dwarf hamster Roborowski Flynn. It has a ground floor size of 145cm x 55cm (~ 57 "x 22") and features a deep digging area and a second floor with a large sand area. It was built using veneered particle board . The background pictures are protected against gnawing with plexi glass.

On the top left there is a 20cm (8") Karlie Wonderland wood wheel , a wooden house with removable roof, cork tunnels, hay, birch leaves and play food (several ears of flax, millet etc). The top right contains a second wheel ( Transonic 8" Robo Wheel ), mangrove roots, cork, hay, play food and a candy jar by Zoorizont.de (similar to the IKEA FÖRVAR) as a hideout. From there a cork tunnel leads to the lower level with the sand area which is furnished with several roots and cork hideouts. The cage can be illuminated with blue LED terrarium moonlights to watch the hamster without disturbing him.

Building details
Picture 11 shows the lower level and the plexi glass that protects the background picture. The glass to keep the bedding in is held by aluminium U-sections which were glued on with aquarium silicone (Pic 13). The plexi glass in front of the digging area is held by aluminum U-sections as well (Pic 14). The sliding doors run in E-shaped tracks as described here on this blog .

The materials cost a total of €319.15 (without inside furnishings).
