Every year at Christmas ill animals away and every year there just after Christmas is a real glut of animals that end up at best in the animal shelter and are exposed in the worst case, simply.
Give better non-fiction books or vouchers instead , eg. for accessories from the pet store, the hardware store for materials for a homemade or IKEA. Use the holidays to read the information on the targeted species and to obtain or build an enclosure. And visit after the holidays an animal shelter and to include an animal is an animal charity. Help to avoid this! Don't give pets for Christmas! Give books about the intended pet instead and a voucher - for the pet shop to buy accessories, for the hardware store to buy materials for a DIY cage, or for IKEA. Use the holidays to read and research about the desired pet. And then visit the shelter or a shelter organization to adopt a pet after the holidays.
